Of Course I’ll Play it is one part travellog, and one part designer discussion.  I am, amongst my friends, known somewhat as an MMO gypsy (that’s actually the charitable description.  The more common, and less charitable version equates me to a woman of promiscuous nature).  No, I’m not a woman.  But I do make my bed in many different MMO’s.  After having done this for many years, its finally occured to me that people might be interested in hearing about the variety of places, scenes, people, and things I’ve seen in my travels.  And as blogs are all the rage these days, so this site was born.

But beyond just a description fo the things I’ve done, the places I’ve been to, and the people I’ve met, I will also post my thoughts from time to time on how these damn things are made.  You cannot have played MMO’s for as long as I have not have more than a few ideas about what works, what doesn’t, and what hasn’t been tried yet that might work.  Furthermore, I’m a game developer by trade, and I spend the vast majority of every day working with other game players and developers, and we pretty much talk about nothing but MMO’s every day all day.  Or least whenever we gather at Baker Bros. for sandwiches.  Out of these conversations and enthusiastic discussions I get further notions and ideas about what people like, dislike, and what might even work.  So I’m going to post some of my crazy ideas here.  And I invite you — I encourage you — please, if you read something and think I’m on crack, don’t hesitate to comment on it and tell me so.  After, that’s the whole purpose of the site.  To find out if people think any of these ideas are great, or if I’m just spending too much time napping behind the ion shield.
